Position
You depend on Manager End User Computing & Infrastructure in Antwerpen region. Their primary responsibility will be to ensure our network’s smooth and efficient operation, spanning multiple locations and data centers worldwide. You will play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and maintaining the global network infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- You provide guidance and support to our internal support teams and collaborate with external vendors or service providers when necessary;
- You evaluate new network technologies and make recommendations for their integration into the existing infrastructure;
- You work with the Global Network Architect to design and architect global network solutions, considering scalability, performance, and security requirements;
- You implement and configure network hardware and software components, including routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, servers, and access points;
- You resolve complex network issues, working closely with cross-functional teams;
- You develop and maintain comprehensive documentation of network configurations, diagrams, procedures, and troubleshooting guides;
- You conduct regular network audits and security assessments to identify vulnerabilities, implement necessary patches or updates, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements;
- You create and implement detailed network equipment installation plans and you conduct network equipment installations and provide post-installation reports.
Profile
- Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field;
- You have an experience 4+ years working as a Network Engineer, focusing on global network infrastructure;
- You have a strong knowledge of routing protocols (BGP, OSPF), switching technologies (VLANs, STP), and network security principles and you are proficient in configuring and troubleshooting network devices from vendors like Cisco, Sophos, and Palo Alto;
- You have an in-depth knowledge and experience of advanced network protocols and technologies, such as MPLS, VRF, DMVPN, SD-WAN, and multicast and know of network access control technologies, including 802.1X authentication, RADIUS, and TACACS+;
- You are familiar with network monitoring and analysis tools like Nagios, PRTG, or OpManager, and proficient in leveraging their performance monitoring, troubleshooting, and reporting capabilities;
- You are able to provide successful delivery of design-ready, complex architectures;
- You are capable of motivating teams and creating a culture of continuous improvement;
- You are able to communicate technical information and ideas across diverse audiences;
- You have a keen attention to detail and proven analytical and problem-solving abilities;
- You are fluent in Dutch and English, French knowledge being an asset.
